Known as the beginning of the modern gay rights movement in the United States, this collection on the Stonewall Riots includes lecture notes, a lecture PowerPoint, an enrichment resources list, and a primary sources list. The lecture covers the historical context and background leading up to, and including, the Stonewall Riots that began on June 28, 1969. A list of primary sources has been provided to encourage historial inquiry and team based learning. The enrichment resources list is useful for educators who would like to dive deeper into the topic by using a variety of teaching resources, such as short clips, TED talks, and documentaries.  This lecture and all supporting OER materials are dedicated: To Sylvia Rivera, Marsha P.
