This can be great trick to remove rows and columns without really removing them. If you need to get a row or column out of the way or even may not need it anymore, BUT you don't want to delete it, hiding them is a great alternative.

I know when I used to be in the classroom if I had a student drop a course I would hide their row so that I would't have to keep skipping it when it came time to enter grades, but it allowed me to keep the old scores for legal record keeping.
