This is a QR code. A QR Code is a 2-dimensional barcode, which has encoded in it a URL (web address), text, or other information. It can be read by a QR code scanner, including QR scanner smartphone apps. Once you have an app installed on your smartphone, open the app and hold your phone’s camera over a QR code to read it. Most QR codes you’ll come across have a URL encoded, so chances are when you read the QR code it will take you to a web page.

This is a thorough lesson that integrates assistive technologies to help students with comprehension and summarization skills. I appreciate that this lesson uses audio and video assisted technologies to highlight critical features. I also like that this lesson activates student’s background knowledge through graphic organizers and connects real life knowledge with history. I also appreciate that this lesson teaches students to be independent by providing them with opportunities to choose the storytelling software they are most comfortable with using.

Technical Remarks:

The link to the material goes to the StAIR, but not the lesson plan.
