courses as well as for those scholars and students studying "cold-war" era
Germany. The Deutsches Historisches Museum intended this, in my opinion, to be
a companion website to an exhibition, but it is also clearly able to stand on
its own. The commentary on both the works included in the exhibition and the
overall nature of propoganda in culture are also quite sound, and very
interesting to view from a cultural perspective since the site originates in
Germany. I will be using this as a resource in my own theatre and cultural
history courses and making it known to my students (even though most of them do
not speak or read German, unlike myself).
Technical Remarks:
information nuggets are just enough for a non-native German speaker to digest
and understand without having to reach for the dictionary (or get a headache).
While I believe that this site would be useful to a wider audience if the
content could also be displayed in English, I personally find it to be very
user-friendly and full of fascinating and useful information for anyone studying
twentieth century commercial art, history, cold-war politics, or other forms of
art.
