Material Detail
Marines The Few. The Proud.
This web site is a military webpage about the United States Marine Corps. This site gives an excellent overview of the Corp without giving specific information that would endanger the security of troops home and abroad. This site includes a variety of different functions such as: a Current Operations heading , Top Stories heading, a most recent news heading that constantly scrolls upwards. It also has a Video Release section which plays video clips of marines engaged in various tasks. In order to operate the video part you will need a Windows Media Explorer. Another great feature is the ability to located marine units and individual marines. There are links to the other branches of service, the Department of Defense and a recruiting site. I believe this site is easily navigatable by a novice user. The headers and footers are consistently located in the same area, the individual headings are outlined in red, the background is a light color, the text is the same size for easy reading and there is a seach heading for key words in different sections of the Corps.

material to find out whats new with the Corps, to see what my brother is doing (
he is in the Corps) and to find out what are the benefits of joining the
Marines. To learn the material you have to become a little familiar wiith the
military language. There are names for things that are unknown to the civilian
world. The material that is displayed is very accurate but a little delayed in
time in order to protect troops home and abroad. The material is very effective
and is a great learing tool for those interested in the military.
Technical Remarks:
no problem navigating throughout the site. If your computer is not up to speed
you may encounter some difficulty viewing the video clips. The font size is
consistent and the constrating background and font colors make it easy to read.
Any novist computer user would be able to use this site with ease.
