World Development Reports

The World Development Report is an annual publication of the World Bank that focuses on a different specific topic every year. In addition to detailed analysis and data on this specific topic, the report also offers selected World Development Indicators, statistical tables providing instant access to the most current data available on social and economic development in more than 200 economies. The complete report, statistical tables, and a previous edition are accessible online in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format. The, World Development Report 2002: Building Institutions for Markets argues that weak institutions?tangled laws, corrupt courts, deeply biased credit systems, and elaborate business registration requirements?hurt poor people and hinder development. The DRAFT World Development Report 2003: Sustainable Development in a Dynamic Economy now available for review.
