All libraries are encouraged to follow them when cataloging electronic (e) resources according to RDA. Libraries may make local policy decisions about whether to use single record (print & e on the same record) or multiple records (print & e on separate records) for their e-resources. Whatever local decisions you make, it is vital that WorldCat master records for e-resources follow the provider-neutral guidelines. Also, please consider when deriving a provider-neutral record from an AACR2 record, converting the provider-neutral record to RDA, when possible. If the record is completely converted to RDA, add the code $e rda in the 040 field, directly after the $b. If conversion is not done, or if the provider-neutral record is only partially converted and remains a hybrid of AACR2 and RDA, do not add $e rda to the 040 field.
