Nice simple set of tips, but presented in an absolute tone - and I'd argue with
some of them. The list could serve as a basis for a nice discussion on web

Technical Remarks:

As an example, "It is important to remember, though, that most web-based images
should be in the GIF format and occupy the least amount of space possible." Why
is it so important to use GIF? For color photos, JPEG is often a better
choice. The least amount of space is probably a single pixel :-) but there are
other important considerations including resolution, color fidelity, "jaggies",
and so forth. With the advent of broadband (fewer and fewer people are limited
by modems) the sole focus on image size should be lessened.
