Natural Selection

This site provides introductory information about natural selection. This site also includes an animation examining instances of natural selection in a hypothetical butterfly species in which the individuals show variation in wing phenotype. The animation also explores an ecological phenomenon called Batesian mimicry. The conclusion discusses the animation and the various examples of natural selection such as stabilizing selection, directional selection and disruptive selection and there is a quiz where the student can answer three questions covering natural selection.
