The United Nations has launched a new website it hopes
will be a one-stop shop for humanitarian early warning. The Humanitarian
Early Warning Service--known as HEWSweb--is a service of the U.N.
Inter-Agency Standing Committee, which coordinates among U.N. and
associated bodies. The HEWSweb service has dedicated pages for each type of hazard including drought, floods, storms, locust, volcanoes, earthquakes, weather, El Nino, other hazards and socio political developments.
