This site is designed to serve medical students enrolled in the graduate Human Physiology course at the University of Arizona, College of Medicine. It is also intended to be a resource for anyone who is interested in topics related to Physiology. Anyone interested in learning more about Physiology will find this site useful. Materials have been developed and added to the site since 1997 and in 2004 the site web server got 1,000,000 requests. The material includes detailed notes, lecture slides, practice tests including lab simulations, links to high quality reference material, and other resources to extend the student's knowledge of Human Physiology. A dynamic Myocardial Function Computer Model is available to students and faculty at educational institutions but is not to be distributed to unauthorized individuals or for commercial use. Contact Dr Gore for a user id and password to download the computer model for instructional use. Dr Robert Gore was named the 2005 Arthur C. Guyton Physiology Educator of the Year by the American Physiological Society. It is the highest honor given for teaching in Physiology recognizing "the significant impact on the students you teach, on your institution and an enduring and significant impact on physiology education on the national and international stage."
