Littlefield Technologies

Developed at Stanford University, Littlefield Technologies dramatically improves student enthusiasm and understanding of traditional production and inventory control topics by having students compete managing online factories. It requires minimal faculty time to learn and run the game, and typically runs in the "background" of a course rather than consuming lecture time. Since 1999, the game has been used in graduate and undergraduate courses that teach topics including queuing, capacity planning, and inventory control. It won the POMS Teaching Innovation Award in 2004 and is currently used in about hundreds of business and engineering programs all over the world.
