Creating Accessible Flash Course

Section 508 standards apply to Flash, a software application increasingly used to create rich interactive presentations and training.  The goal of this course is to enable developers and other personnel involved in Flash development projects to apply the principles of accessibility to creating Section 508-compliant Flash presentations.  Course topics include (1) enabling accessibility, (2) designing for accessibility, (3) avoiding flicker, (4) using color, (5) providing controls for audio, video and automatically updating content, (6) providing captions, (7) using audio for visual information, (8) providing text equivalents, (9) ensuring keyboard accessibility, (10) controlling reading and tab order, (11) maintaining focus, and (12) providing accessible user interface controls.
