Description:
This lesson was developed as part of the Ashland University's course on Jr/Sr High WebQuests offered in the Lakota School District in West Chester, Ohio.

The Day of the Dead WebQuest teaches students about the cultural and religious influences that created this holiday which is celebrated annually throughout Mexico and surrounding Central American countries. Although the focus of the WebQuest is on various religions, it is in no way a solicitation to follow or practice those religions. Instead it gives students a foundation of understanding from which they can compare and contrast their own personal beliefs.
Products of the webquest are in English with some attention given to Spanish vocabulary surrounding the Day of the Dead. Curriculum standards are taken from the Ohio State Model for 9th grade foreign language.
