Using surfer lingo, introduces the concept of gravitational waves. Describes their probable sources (binary star systems, black holes, supernovae) and what we can learn about these sources if only we could detect the gravitational waves they produce. Describes the proposed Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA) mission to detect GWs. Includes an exciting classroom science bowl-type game (including all the questions and answers) played in teams to reinforce new concepts and vocabulary.
