This course is designed to provide an introduction to current research pertaining to emergency management, help gain an understanding of the processes and requirements for conducting empirical research related to emergency management, including outcomes and techniques for measuring these outcomes, help gain an understanding of the importance of qualitative research techniques, introduce quantitative research techniques, teach how to conduct a local risk and vulnerability assessment as well as a program evaluation and teach how to access emergency management documents and other sources of information, such as those on the Internet.
