This is a lesson plan to to engage students in a process of defining "culture" and examining its complexity. The goal of the lesson is to demonstrate that multiculturalism is more than just race or ethnicity. The lesson can be adapted to a variety of audiences (children to adults)
I am currently teaching to English Language Learners and I attending school for a degree in TESOL. I am always seeking new ideas and topics to present to my class as well as my colleagues who teach English Language Learners. I plan to utilized the lesson on The "Depth and Breadth of Multicultual"to my class and turnkey this lesson to other ESL Teachers in my unit. The way the lesson was organzied and structure it will provide student learning and faculty teaching will be enhanced. The content of the lesson makes it possible to present to elementary to adults. That is why I gave this lesson a high rating due to the flexiblity of the subject. Multiculturalism is a very diverse and complex subject. The lesson provided serval indepth way to present this subject. Due to the increase of many cultures in our school systems I feel the topic of Multicultualism is educationally significant to all teachers. I feel this lesson will be an effective tool to teachers or anyone who wants to present a detail view on the subject of Multicultural.
