Workshop Participant (null)
I will be giving a presentation about learning styles at an upcoming
instructional technology institute. During the activity session, I will have
the participants visit your site and take the learning styles inventory. My
hope is that the participants will use this resource with their students.
Although the inventory is short, it does provide useful insights about learning
preferences.

I teach an online study skills class. One of the units
is about personality and learning styles and how a
student can best take advantage of his/her own unique
approach to education. I would use this site very near
the beginning of the assignment so that students could
become intrigued with what these kinds of tests could
show them about themselves. The site has six different
kinds of learning styles and intelligence tests as well
as suggestions about what to do about your particular
results. I will use this object next semester.
1)The site was easy to navigate. Students just click on
one of the six boxes, take an inventory and submit their
answers. They immediately get a read out of what their
scores mean. I think they would love to have this kind
of information. Everyone loves taking those little tests
that tell us about ourselves!Taking these tests would
give student a great deal of insight into how people
differ in their approaches to learning.
2) After visiting these sites student be aware that
there are different styles of learning and that all
learners are not alike. They will also know that there
are resources onlline where a student may go for help in
learning how to deal with his/her particular style.
3)My learners are usually first semester college
students who are not prepared or motivated to move into
a program or plan. This site is fun, interactive and
helps a student know about themselves. I can see it
helping students get more excited about education.
4)From my background knowledge of research in this area,
I find the software to be accurate and professional.
