PBVUSD Teacher of the Year 2010 (03/2010) This is our district's Teacher of the Year Award. I will now be sent to the county level in order to qualify for the statewide competition.

CUE Kern County-Region 8 Teacher of the Year (02/2010) From the Computer Using Educators (CUE) an award for innovation and technology in the classroom and its use during instruction.

One Classroom At A Time Grant (10/2008) Yes we won it again. This time the money was used for cameras to support curriculum designed and completed within the scope of the Global Learning Exchange (GLE).

Kids In Need Teacher Grant (11/2007) This was a $500 grant for a lesson called Paleolithic Discovery. Essentially my students will be digging up artifacts (some pre-made and some from home) out of a created excavation site. Math and Social Studies in a hands-on experience!

One Classroom at a Time Grant (05/2007) This was given to our class by Channel 29 Bakersfield and our community. It was a $1000 award and it was used for the building of rockets and volcanoes for 3 sixth grade classrooms. We had a great time. See my personal url for images!

Project Ice Interactive Technology in the Classroom (Presentation about MERLOT), 08/06/2008 This is actually a 4-day event where participating teachers are taught the ins and outs of interactive technology (thanks to 3M)in the classroom. Interactive learning objects are sought after and will be leveraged into MERLOT for the use of the masses.
