Elisabeth Gareis an Ed.D. in Foreign Language Education from the University of Georgia. She teaches intercultural communication, international communication, conflict resolution, and international business communication at Baruch College/CUNY, and coordinates ESL services in spoken English and the international faculty development program at the college. Her research interests include intercultural friendship, communication education, and oral communication proficiency for second language learners.
