## Regressional Analysis

by John Schmidt

### Authorized users only:

1.

#### Introduction to Minitab

This is a great tutorial for students who are beginning to use minitab. It walks them through many of the basic functions of the program.
2.

#### Probability/Statistics Object Library

This web site uses applets to give students a basic understanding of many statistical ideas, using visual representation.
3.

#### Multiple Linear Regression Analysis

This site can help students understand and visualize the concept of multiple regression.
4.

#### PredInt.xls

Some students may not have access to minitab to investigate multiple regresssion with prediction intervals. This macro allows students to do this with only excel.
5.

#### Linear Regression Calculator

This program allows students to investagate the concept of the line of best fit, with data of there choice. This will help students understand what the line of best fit is by experementation, not just a book defination.
6.

#### Solving Systems of Equations

This applet solves systems of linear equations; giving students a basic understanding before trying to use them with linear regression.
7.

#### Regression Analysis with Diagnostic Tools

This web site gives much of the same information about linear regression with two variables as minitab, but in a much clearer format. Students can investigate data sets of there choice and see how changing a value will affect there model.
8.

#### Measuring for Accuracy

Students can enter actual and predicted data; while exploring aspects of percent error.
9.

#### Scattered Diagram

This applet addresses outliers. The concept of an outlier is useful when looking at a set of data to determin if a specific data point my need to be removed from there liner model.
10.

#### A Brief Introduction to Probability and Statistics

This is a great refrence for reviewing basic probiblity and statistics. The students can find particular items they are intrested in reviewing when needed.
11.

#### Scatterplot and Correlation Coefficient

This is a great visual for students who are trying to conceptionally understand correlation coefficients. They can chose the correlation coefficient and the software will give a line and set of data representing there chosen coefficient.
