I adapted the Secret Codes activity to include more practice and asking the students to answer some questions about how the activity related to transcription and translation.
The Comic Strip activity serves as a great assessment to see if students understand the relationships between DNA, RNA, and Protein Synthesis in a fun, artistic way.
Different clips of this video can be used depending on what you're teaching- for example, I used the first part as we talked about coiling and replication, the next part when we talked about transcription and the next when we talked about translation. It can also be used as a great review for students. I like using short clips like this because it's an opportunity for students to hear scientific language from someone other than me, and it's short enough (and visually interesting enough) to keep their attention.
