Description:

Things that might help in private lessons or (if I ever teach in one) the classroom.

Authorized users only:

1.

Reading Music

Added 05/02/2012

Very detailed tutorial on reading. Somewhat cumbersome language...directed more at slightly older students (think academic writing).

2.

Interactive Music Skill Checks

Added 05/03/2012

A big bucket of neat little tests. lacking somewhat in the tutorials, but that's not really the point of them...more to check learning than to actually teach.

3.

International Music Score Library Project

Added 05/03/2012

As I already know, a good source of most of the sheet music that me or my students  would be looking for. not exactly rife with good percussion literature, but it's always nice to have a little marimbach, and there's plenty on the site for other instruments.

4.

African Music and Dance

Added 05/03/2012

in case I ever want to teach African Music. or Dance. or both.

5.

Online Music Theory Reference

Added 05/03/2012

A sort of dictionary of theory terms. good homework help, but use with caution.
