This lesson plan is intended to provide an instructional design approach for head gasket replacement. Students use activity based learning to be able to perform head gasket replacement on a modern multi-material (iron, aluminum) engine with torque to yield fastener interface technology. This complex skill set is one that many technicians will need to be able to perform readily when they take jobs as automotive technicians.
