My personal collection of multimedia material for teaching.

Authorized users only:

Dimensions (geometry)

Added 10/01/2012

This video content is very useful especially chapter 1 which includes a visual of a sphere being cut into parts creating Longitude, Latitude, Meridians, Parallels, Poles, and Equators. It briefly goes into projections but only targets one in specific stereographic. It would have definately been more useful if the three required for my curriculum were included. This is missing Cylindrical, conic, and planar projection surfaces

Types of faults: Animations of fault motion

Added 10/19/2012

Great Material for visualization can be found at this website

Hopefully the Classroom computer being used has the correct drivers to play the content.

Fault Animations

Added 10/26/2012

You can incorporate this into a quick minilesson and have the students draw each series of events and create there own cartoon of the events. the different fault types.

The Driving Forces Behind Plate Tectonics and The Three Types of Plate Boundaries

Added 10/26/2012

Of Course I Found this and Decided to submit it to Merlot since i found it to be extremely useful when i presented this subject to a class

Igneous Rocks

Added 10/26/2012

I would definately try to use this in class as an individual activity. Where each student would go on the computer during the class and go through the slides while answering the questions.
