This course examines the role of health professionals in addressing        health promotion and disease prevention in populations across the lifespan.  Health in diverse communities will be explored.  The role of health professionals as providers of care, coordinators of care, and member of the profession in community settings with diverse populations will be emphasized

Nursing 420

Learning Outcomes:

Apply knowledge from liberal arts, social, physical and natural sciences and nursing to determine interventions to meet the needs of diverse groups and communities in complex situations.Integrate aspects of social, economic, culture, and research to care for the needs of diverse groups and communities.Analyze the role of health care professionals in meeting the needs of diverse groups and communities.Analyze the effectiveness of communication with health professionals and other

community resources.

Analyze historical, legal and ethical issues that impact the practice of health professionals working with diverse groups and communities.Evaluate outcomes of strategies that affect the health of diverse communities.

G.  Synthesize  the process of community health planning.
