Description:

This course presented me with activities related to the design of a learning application. I explored advantages and disadvantages of multiple learning environments and content delivery technologies. Il developed a plan for an individualized learning project that includes a template for design of a specific environment. Course topics include education and communication theory, course and content delivery methods, asynchronous and synchronous technologies, multimedia design, usability testing, and integration of multimedia objects within instructional programs and systems.

Course Outcomes: By the end of this course I should be able to:

  1. IX564-1 - Apply principles of multimedia design to a specific learning space, problem, and context.
  2. IX564-2 - Design the main features and interface for a learning system.
  3. IX564-3 - Create design specifications for development of reusable content.
  4. IX564-4 - Examine current trends and issues related to the use of synchronous and asynchronous instructional technologies.
  5. IX564-5 - Determine appropriate applications for Learning Management Systems and Content Management Systems that consider both online and hybrid delivery.
