Description:

Barbara Nelson's Colby activity for subjunctive practice.  Has links to subjunctive exercises from her Colby site.

Course:

Third Year Honors Spanish, GBN

Prerequisites:

Knowledge of subjunctive with noun clauses.

Learning Outcomes:

Recognizing the subjunctive when heard in the song. Completing cloze exercise (I create).  Completing the subjunctive grammar exercises on BKN's site. 

Pedagogy Approach:

Students listen to the song once. Students listen again completing the cloze exercise.  Students complete the subjunctive exercises.

Assessment Methodology:

Students create their own version of the song, in the form of a song, poem, or writing sample, with a minimum of 5 subjunctive phrases. Must use Ojala and 4 other verbs or phrases of influence (from WEDDDING).
