This video discusses causes of common on the job injuries.  Risks in various jobs are examined and construction work is considered high risk for hazardous injury.  In addition, GENAG 712 defines traumatic injuries and occupational safety and GENAG 711 defines job related illness and occupational health.


Construction Core


No prerequisites are required.

Learning Outcomes:

Students will learn to be aware of common injuries often suffered on the job at construction sites, as well as the various ways to promote occupational safety and occupational health.

Pedagogy Approach:

The Traumatic Injury Hazards video will be shown in class and used to supplement the safety section of the Core Construction textbook.

Assessment Methodology:

A quiz on construction site injuries and their causes will be given in class after viewing the video.
