Each year 5,000 people are killed on the job and 1,000,000 workers recieve lost time injuries. This lecture discusses how to control hazards on the job to prevent injuries and death.  Topics include ANSI Z10, elimination, substitution, engineering control, warnings, administrative controls and personal protective equipment.

No prerequisites are required.

Learning Outcomes:

Students will learn how to prevent on the job injuries and down time.

Pedagogy Approach:

Students will view this lecture as an online assignment and then discuss it in class.

Assessment Methodology:

Safety is extremely important in Electrical I and II.  This lecture will be used to supplement the material in the textbooks and reinforce the important of safety procedures on the job.  A quiz will be given after students view this lecture.
