Resources for my biology course

1.

DNA Interactive

Added 11/10/2013

This site has amazing simulations/videos of DNA replication, transcription and translation.  I could use these videos when teaching those concepts in an AP Bio course.  The videos are too advanced for a Living Environment course.

2.

Connecting Concepts: Ecology/Population Dynamics 3: Elephant Population Growth

Added 11/10/2013

Cool real data that can be used in a Living Environment ecology lab.

3.

Biology Textbook (On-Line)

Added 11/10/2013

Virtual textbook that can be used to find alternate ways to describe concepts than what is offered in school textbook.  FOr instance, you could print our readings from this textbook to use in a jigsaw activity with readings from the main textbook.

4.

Photosynthesis & Cellular Respiration Activities and Labs

Added 11/10/2013

Great resource for new ideas on teaching photosynthesis and cellular respiration in Living Environment courses.

5.

DNA from the Beginning

Added 11/10/2013

This site offers great simulations and explanations of genetic concepts.  I would use this site in introducing the concept of heredity and genes in Living Environment.
