Course:

i am douing this for my course SEYS 562

DNA from the Beginning

Added 12/19/2013

i think this is a cool website because it uses graphics to explain genetic and DNA. DNA is now one of the portion of science in which scientist are exploring cure for disease. i would use this in my living environment claas to get my students thinking about a carreer in science and to pique their interest and to give them visual representation of how DNA works and some of the answers to its mystery.

2.

Biological animations and tutorials

Added 12/19/2013

this would be a good way to give a practice quizz after seeing simulations of different biological concepts and a way to test understanding and assessment.

3.

Earth2class

Added 12/19/2013
This is a great site for earth science classes. It has units, key concepts, corresponding core standards and also lab and activities that can be used. I found it useful in lesson planning as well.
4.

Attention grabbers

Added 12/19/2013
I found this on the web while I was brain storming unique ways to get the attention of my students. I sometime find it hard to do something exceptional that I maintain their attention for the whole period. So I went searching for help and found this. Very creative and innovative. Something as simple as timing activities to giving student a checklist of the high points of the lesson then asking if it was covered in your presentation are some of the ideas I thought were neat. It al can be applied to any class dynamic and situation.
5.

Simulations

Added 12/19/2013
I tried it out and it works very well with the simulations. Can do simulations on concepts such as chemical bonding, diffusion, quantum mechanics, protein and DNA. It's is open source which is even better. For my visual learners I would use this the explain certain concepts in biology. You can also customize and create your own simulations If let's say the class has a theory then it can be tested. I approved. It has to be downloaded.it also has assessment tools embedded with the software. See Less Description
