Course ePortfolio: California State University-NASA Collaborative 2004 Summer Institute (June 15-17, 2004)
Course ePortfolio Description:
This collection of excellent NASA resources was used to explore strategies for developing "deep understandings of science" with reference to the California Science Standards at the CSU-NASA Summer Institute.
More information about the institute is at www.csub.edu/~rhughes/cnsi and contact Ron Hughes (Ron_Hughes@firstclass1.csubak.edu) for more details about the event. Course: The institute was attended by teams composed of a CSU science professor, CSU science methods educator, and K-12 teacher who have a strong interest in using NASA resources.
The goal of the institute is to develop exemplary science lessons modeling the use of NASA content and resources. These exemplary lessons will benefit: (1) Science and liberal studies majors, whose instructors present student opportunities to use NASA content and resources, (2) Science methods students (elementary and secondary) whose instructors model the implementation of NASA content and resources into the curriculum, and link it to the California Academic Content Standards, and (3) K-12 teachers, who address the California Academic Content Standards with real-time data, and other NASA content and resources.<
