CARET (Center for Applied Research in Educational Technology) is a project sponsored by ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education). ISTE is ״dedicated to promoting appropriate uses of information technology to support and improve learning, teaching, and administration in K-12 education and teacher education.״This web site has a number of different ways to access its contents: a reading list, a list of resources, a question and answer section, and a search engine. There are enough resources here to keep casual browsers and researchers occupied for hours. The reading list is divided into four study types (Position Papers, Descriptive Studies, Formal Evaluation Studies, and Formal Research Studies), a useful way to distinguish amongst the material. The questions and answers section is the only material directly provided by CARET, the rest references other research material. It seems to be a good resource for papers and studies on research into and evaluation of educational technology.Technical Remarks:The entire site uses a fixed font size and lots of graphics-based menus. I always find this difficult as I often increase the default font size in my browser for better readability. Luckily, using Internet Explorer's 'Accessibility' options to ignore the site's explicit font sizes leaves it still readable, but does nothing for the graphical menus.
