1. Select a curriculum concept that find you are repeatedly teaching and diagramming as you explain it. Break it down into basic steps. Include a sketch with each step. You will use this information as a reference and "working script" as you make your sketchcast.

2 Make sure you have a microphone and drawing tablet connected to your computer and that they are both working.

3. Go to http://www.sketchcast.com. Create a free account if you have not already done so. Login.

4. Read and explore the Sketchcast.com home page. Then click on the About link at the bottom of the page. View the sample sketchcast found in the middle of the page. It explains and demonstrates a sketchcast all at once.

5. To create your sketchcast, click on the link create on the upper right of the page. Give your sketchcast a name. Check the box "with voice" and slect the Tutorial Category.

6. Click on the box with the red dot that says start recording draft. Put the cursor in the drawing area and begin sketching AND speaking. This takes some practice. Select the eraser and hold the clicker down to remove lines. Click on the black box to change colors. In the colors box, you can also select a different line width in the upper right. The letter T box lets you type words. Click the "T" and place the cursor where you want to type the words. If you want to do all this using a full screen, use the Toggle Full Screen link on the lower right.

7. Practice with the sketchcast tools and recording your voice. When you pause the recording, you are given two choices: Restart—which clears the drawing area and Publish—which saves your sketchcast and generates a code for you so you can embed your sketchcast into a blog or web site. You are also given a specific URL so you can direct others to your sketchcast at Sketchcast.com.

8. Create your curriculum concept Sketchcast and Publish it.

9. Field test your sketchcast in your teaching environment—classroom, library, after school club, t assignment for sports team, etc. Gather feedback from the users.

10. Submit the title, the URL, and a written summary reflection of your sketchcast experience including how it was used by your learners by the due date given in class.
