As an academic staff emeber of a vocational educational college, I can see that this material could be useful as resource to be provided to students if Google docs where being used as a collaboration tool. It may well be viewed once inclass as an introduction, after which it would be available for students to review as necessary.
The video tutorial is direct and flows well through the content. Although it seems to have a clear aim of what the outcome will be this is not expressed explicitly in the tutorial. The author does provide caveats at the start of the presumed starting point, and background situation of the student.
The concepts provided are easy to follow and the linking of interface structure to the, (most likely), familiar interface of Word provides students with a greater sense of ease in te environment.
The material does not seek to teach how edit a document, per se, but seeks to instruct around the framework of the system in which the document is stored.
This is the better way to go, given that students llikely familiatiry with text editing programs.
The use of a public link for a document would be useful for academic staff as it allows making resource material available easily to their students.
Use is straighforward. Standard navigation for a video are provided. This makes interacting with it familiar.
The quiz at the end works well. However, it does assume students will know what the buttons are for. On completing the quiz the video started from the beginning. This is can cause some confusion.
