Sonata Allegro Form in Eine kleine Nachtmusik, K 525

Rating: 4 stars
Used in Course: Not used in course
Submitted by: Melyssa Swett (Student), Mar 29, 2013

I found this to be a beneficial tool for teaching students about sonata allegro form.  As a visual learner it helped me to be able to “see” where each of the sections of the song begins.  By highlighting the sections as it goes along, students who are weak at reading notation were able to follow along even if they had trouble processing the notes as quick as the song’s tempo.  The ability to pause and point to the sections on the computer display was quite beneficial to class discussions.

Technical Remarks:

It would have been beneficial to have a fast forward or rewind option.  It would have been helpful to be able to repeat a section that was causing trouble for students.  Also, it would have been useful to be able to skip ahead to a certain measure number or at the least to jump to the next section so students would be able to hear different sections independently.
