Adult training is 21st Century, given the changing world, knowledge requires updating to remain competitive. There are various techniques and theories for teaching. However, we can only address the popular and tried theories in a reasonable amount of time. Constructivism is one of those learning theories. As a teacher, and future instructional designer, we can research and understand constructivism along with other theories to craft the best fitting programs for our students. Constructivism is an attractive choice because of its attachment to Behaviorism and its ability to draw on real life experiences and knowledge. Constructivism is based on the idea that understanding new knowledge is built and associated with prior knowledge. Using the ADDIE Model, users will learn about instructional design.
