The ONLY problem I found was with the video, 49.1, Geritol is non-existent via the link in the online version. No link provided in the pdf version.
Potential Effectiveness as a Teaching Tool
Rating:
Strengths:
Although the title’s legal focus indicates marketing and sales, this text is a good support to a generalized business law course. In addition to the comprehensive content within the text itself, each chapter section includes objectives, a key takeaway and exercises. This is reinforced by a summary and additional exercises at the conclusion of the chapter, including self-test questions (with answers provided). Many chapters also offer 1-2 cases for further exploration and discussion. An instructor could readily utilize this text in a number of ways, with content for in-class or outside-of-class individual or group work.
Concerns:
If the instructor wants to test student, these will have to be developed indivdiually.
Ease of Use for Both Students and Faculty
Rating:
Strengths:
This text is easy to locate, and is highly portable with both PDF or online reading options. The inherent “dryness” of the subject matter is well-broken up with current, relatable examples such that the content is digestible and interesting. Support resources such as discussion questions/exercises are quite thought-provoking.
Concerns:
As a free resource, this text is not as graphics-heavy as one might find in cost-based options. As such, the visual appeal is somewhat limited.
Other Issues and Comments:
I could easily adapt this text for my marketing ethics/social responsibility course!
