Overview:: This website is a resource for ESL and EFL teachers who teach elementary or
middle school. It provides job information, worksheets, flashcards, lesson
plans, and articles on teaching ESL/EFL.
Type of Material:: English Language Learning enhancements: lesson plans, worksheets, games,
puzzles. Also includes job search information, articles about teaching ESL/EFL,
and links to similar sites.
Technical Requirements:: Media player needed for one music download, ability to download and print rather
complex color graphics
Identify Major Learning Goals:: To teach or assist those who teach English as a second or foreign language by
providing information and materials.
Target Student Population:: Elementary and Middle School English, ESL, and EFL students. Some material for
teaching adults is also included.
Prerequisite Knowledge or Skills:: Anyone with basic English and computer skills can use the site and materials.

Rating:
Strengths:: The purpose of the site, providing resources for ESL/EFL teachers, is clear. The
site does provide a variety of materials that focus on the ELA/ESL standards
for reading, writing, listening, and speaking and target a variety of skills and
different levels of proficiency. Students will find the materials fun and not
too difficult. Graphics and fonts used on printable materials (worksheets,
puzzles) give them a feeling of being a game rather than work.
Concerns:: According to the home page, the purpose of the site is "a resource site for TEFL
and ESL teachers who teach elementary and middle school English, ESL and EFL to
kids". Although the articles on teaching and job search information do fit
under the heading of resources for teachers, it seems that the site is beginning
to get cluttered with information that is taking it away from its primary
purpose. It could be improved by focusing more on additional materials for the
stated target population: elementary and middle school level students, rather
than branching out too much into adult lessons and general information about
teaching ESL/EFL. There are few crossover lesson plans for the social sciences
and mathematics academics disciplines.

Rating:
Strengths:: The site provides ESL/EFL teachers with activities and a variety of materials
that can be easily integrated into existing lessons. The materials are divided
by themes and proficiency level, which makes it easy to access them and print
them for use. Although the materials are primarily useful for individual work,
the games, flashcards and activities can be used in a variety of ways and
provide ideas for designing lesson plans.
Concerns:: The lesson plans are better viewed as activities rather than complete lessons.
They lack assessment keys or rubrics that would make them truly useful as lesson
plans. The majority of the plans are more suitable to adults and older students
than to elementary/middle school level students.

Rating:
Strengths:: Overall, the site is uncluttered, user friendly and easy to navigate. The layout
is simple and consistent, and use of color and graphics is interesting but not
distracting. Most navigation can be done by using navigational bar at the top.
Materials are easy to find, and most can be printed easily and quickly.
Concerns:: As additional pages are added to the site, the home page is becoming somewhat
cluttered. Some of the newer items have been added to the home page but cannot
be reached by the navigation bar. It is possible to get lot in the site if
connecting to external links.

Some of the materials that students might find engaging take a long time to
download and print because of detail in graphics.
