This tutorial is a brief and concise tutorial on the ethical use of information in research. The tutorial reviews two different citation formats, defines and discusses plagiarism and issues regarding copyright laws. The tutorial has active links to supporting material. This tutorial can be used as a classroom presentation or a self study activity for high school or college students.

This tutorial clearly and completely explains what and how to avoid plagiarism. It also tells how to do citations, both in text and and in the bibliography. Good quality links are included for more information. At the end of each section on plagiarism, citations and copyright it summarizes what has been learned. Well designed to be visually pleasing and well constructed in that the concepts are clearly and concisely presented. The associated links support the material and provide valuable additional information.
Concerns:

Although links are provided for different citation formats, it might be helpful to the student to give examples of citations for different materials.

Citing sources can seem confusing because of the details that need to be recorded. Students may benefit from a more detailed review of how to create a citation which can be provided by the instructor after the tutorial is viewed.
