This course is a seminar for students who are enrolled in a CCNY Spitzer School of Architecture architecture program and have begun their architectural experience in an architecture or design firm. The purpose of the course is focus on students’ professional development as they transition from Student to Architect. Course topics will include a thorough introduction to the NCARB Architectural Experience Program and a review of State licensure requirements.
- Enrolled in the CCNY Spitzer School of Architecture
- Currently have paid employment in the AEC Field
The class discussions will center on such topics as the importance of establishing personal goals in the workplace, ethics, and thriving in an office environment. There will be opportunities for students to take part in community events and exhibition openings related to the field of architecture. There will be a number of writing and online assignments. Additionally the seminar format of the course will rely heavily on students’ participation in discussion during class meetings & online forums, based on reading assignments, other out- of-class assignments and speaker presentations.
