Hypothesis Tests: Type I and Type II errors

Hypothesis Tests: Type I and Type II errors

This self-contained demonstration module provides a quick overview of hypothesis tests and allows students to explore resultant changes to the probabilities associated with type I and type II errors as one explores alternative testing parameters.  The hypothesis test tutorial/demonstration module is written in Flash Pro 8 and is fully exportable to other applications.  Students enter a value for the mean of the null hypothesis, alternate hypothesis, critical value, sampling size, and underlying variance.  The resultant plot shows what happens to the underlying distributions and plots the alpha and beta errors under criteria (parameters) specified on the input screen.
