Engineering Cultures: Online versus In Class

At many universities, online courses are being offered as an option for students. Yet, little research has been completed on the effectiveness of online courses as compared to in class versions. "Online" is defined here to be a course in which the majority of instructional and course materials are delivered via internet. At Virginia Polytechnic Institute and the Colorado School of Mines a course titled, Engineering Cultures, has been offered both online and in class.
