A New Paradigm of Learning – ‘E-Learning’

‘E learning’ systems addresses to the issue of educational ‘e-content’ reusability through the concept of learning objects, an idea inherited from object oriented paradigm, the learning object is a small size reusable instructional component for distribution over the internet.. This concept is increasingly used by industry, government and educational organizations for conducting training programmes, development and motivational sessions. ‘E-learning’ is realistic and meaningful for collaborative learning. The development of ‘e-learning’ strategies from its initial phase has undergone tremendous change to acquire its present dimensions and this evolutionary phenomenon is accelerated by the growing needs of the modern world. The social liner of ‘e-learning’ is encumbered with wider group of user with cognitive emotional and behavioral and contextual perspective. The traditional pedagogy of instructional design which focused on curriculum has now emerged as platform for interactive brain storming amongst resource persons and learners. Sharable contents objects (SCO) is the most commonly accepted term with regard to learning and reuse elements having a problem which is realistic and meaningful for collaborative learning. The development of ‘e-learning’ strategies from its initial phase has undergone tremendous change to acquire its present dimensions and this evolutionary phenomenon is accelerated by the growing needs of the modern world.
