Welcome to our poetry unit, everyone!
In this unit, we will be exploring the poetry genre and the things--objects, memories, experiences, hobbies, interests, etc.--that make us who we are. I am excited for all of us to read and stumble upon poems that speak to who we are, our interests, and our experiences. And I am equally excited for us to learn the craft of poetry and to write our own pieces. At the end, we will utilize the video editing skills we learned from last unit and synthesize that with our own version of George Ella Lyon's "Where I'm From" poem to create our own digital poems! Check out the example below for an example of the unit's final product. Enjoy!
