Expetations and Results 

NUTR 376- In this class I completed a personal evaluation of my diet. My expectations were to find habits or areas that I could improve in. The result was I discovered even though the foods I was eating were relatively nutritious I was taking in too much sodium and needed to increase my consumption of vitamin D. 

NUTR 381- In my quantity foods production class I planned and prepared a culturally authentic meal for 15 guests made up of professors and kitchen staff. My expectations for this assignment were that I would learn how to use the kitchen equipment, prepare a haccp plan, and develop team work skills. The result was our team was successful in preparing a meal for 15 professors and kitchen staff and I became more confident in the kitchen. 

NUTR 465-In my community nutrition class we were to write to a state representative to support a bill. My expectations for this assignment were to find a bill I believe should pass, advocate for the support of the bill, and send the letter to the representative. The result of this assignment was that I creating a letter supporting a bill that would improve the communities knowledge in nutrition. Unfortunately I did not receive a response from the state representative. 

NUTR 496- In my leadership and professional issues nutrition course I was assigned to lead the class in a lesson and discussion over macular degeneration and the role nutrition may play. My expectations for this assignment were to further develop my presentation skills, gain a deep understanding of a previously unknown topic, and generate meaningful discussion with the class. The result was that I was able to   further develop my presentation skills, gain a deep understanding of a previously unknown topic, and generate meaningful discussion with the class.
