How to change the location of items using Sirsi

This guide is designed to help SirsiDynix Symphony users move a lot of items quickly to a new location.

1. Create the new location 

  1. In Worrflows go to Configuation.-- General configuation -- Location.
  2. Hit the Create button 
  3. Give it a name and a description.
  4. Must wait a day for Sirsi to index it. Then you can use it/



2. Use the Cataloging tab to use the Item Group Editor

  1. Find Item Group Editor under Call numbers
  2. On the far right side select "single"/
  3. Make sure the index is set to Item ID 
  4. Scan or type in the Barcode number and hit the Search button 
  5. That item will be put in the bottom box where it can be edited. 
  6. When all the items have been entered that you want to move to a new location you will be able to edit them all at once.
  7. Click the button that says "Edit items"/
