Service and Leadership
Jacob’s Village: a community that brings together people with disabilities to have a safe neighborhood to build relationships, participate in activities, and have affordable housing
I volunteered to lead the residents in sports. One way this is done is through hosting bowling events, where I helped them learn the ropes of bowling and also got to build friendships with the residents by bowling.
I volunteered to help with Jacob’s Village landscaping. Landscaping and helping the neighborhood clean boosts happiness and safety.
Riley Dance Marathon: an event that raises money to fund Riley Hospital
I volunteered to be a part of the marathon in order to raise awareness and funds for Riley Hospital. It is a chance to hear stories from children that Riley Hospital changed and helped them have a healthy life.
Baseball at the University of Southern Indiana
I have always loved baseball, since I was a child I always wanted to play baseball in college, and through the University of Southern Indiana, I was able to achieve this goal. Baseball not only supports my healthy lifestyle but also taught me how to work as a team and communicate with my teammates.
