- Direct, keyword Smart Search of 50+ "Other Libraries" and of the World Wide Web

The MERLOT collection consists of are peer reviewed materials catalogued in many ways including academic discipline, similar to those in college catalogues.
MERLOT academic disciplines are maintained by a subject matter Editor and editorial board of peer reviewers who ensure the content quality.
There are 25 Community Portals, each with unique content maintained by discipline experts. These include:
